The Los Angeles Angels were able to take another win last night over the Detroit Tigers as the gamed ended 2-0. The Angels managed to put their record above .500 with the updated record (25-24).

Albert Pujols, although he got off to a rough start, hit his 530th career homer in the midst of three hits. Hector Santiago also struggled but he got back on track by pitching a three-hit ball into the eighth inning. Santiago got his second victory in his last seven starts after yielding only five earned runs in his last 33 1/3 innings.

Huston Street managed to get four outs for his 15th save, and struck out Yoenis Cepedes with the bases loaded to close out the eighth inning.

Santiago left the game with one out on the board in the eighth inning, only after Jose Iglesias‘ bloop single on his 111th pitch.

Cam Bedrosian left one out later with the bases loaded. Street made his first eighth-inning appearance of the season and fanned Cespedes on just four pitches.

The Detroit Tigers were shut out for the second time in five days.

ESPN.com reports that the Angels were unable to use eighth-inning reliever Joe Smith after he woke up that morning with a stiff neck. This forced Bedrosian into the game and pushed Street to go longer than normal.

The two teams will play again today at 6:05 pm PST.
