Dallas Keuchel Too Much For Angels, Halos Fall 6-3

HOUSTON, Tx- Dallas Keuchel hasn’t lost at home all season and the Angels were not able to end that streak on Monday night as they fell to the Houston Astros 6-3.

Jered Weaver got the start for the Halos. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing 9 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2 and picked up his 12th loss of the season.

For Houston Keuchel was excellent once again. He pitched 7.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 run. He struck out 6 and walked 1 and was able to pick up his 18th win of the season.

The Astros got on the board to first when Evan Gattis hit a 2-run shot to left field. It was his 26th homer of the year and brought in Colby Rasmus. This gave the Astros an early 2-0 lead.

Carlos Correa hit a 2-run bomb of his own in the 3rd inning. For Correa it was his 19th of the year and brought in George Springer and the Astros lead ballooned to 4-0.

In the 5th inning Spring hit a RBI single to left that brought in Nick Marisnick and pushed the lead to 5-0.

The Halos got on the board finally in the 6th inning. Albert Pujols grounded out but was deep enough to get Erick Aybar home and cut the lead to 5-1.

In the 7th inning Correa hit a RBI double that brought in Jose Altuve and the Astros lead 6-1.

The Halos tried to rally back in the 9th inning. David Murphy hit a RBI single to center field that brought in David Freese. Collin Cowgill followed with a RBI single of his own but the rally ended their and Angels fell 6-3.

The Angels and Astros will continue their series tonight with Hector Santiago and Lance McCullers taking the mound.
