Lakers Lose To Grizzlies, 112-95

@SPORTalkLakers

The Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Memphis Grizzlies but came out on the wrong side of the scoreboard, losing 112-95.

This game should have been the last time we seen both Vince Carter and Kobe Bryant on the court, but we had to settle for Carter and the Grizzlies taking this one. The 18-year veteran Carter, scored a season-high 19 points and he was just a menace from 3pt range, as Memphis took the second game of their home and home series. The final game of this series is scheduled for March the 22nd at the Staples Center.

The Lakers were led by another nice game from D’Angelo Russell with 22 points. Russell, who have been playing some inspired basketball since being named a permanent member of the starting rotation for the Los Angeles. Julius Randle added 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the Lakers in boards. We can’t forget about the contribution of Lou Williams, who led the Lakers bench in scoring with 13 points and with his .500 from the field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

There were a few points to this game that we can take a closer look at but the Lakers were just simply out played in this one. Rebounding is one of the key components in any victory. Los Angeles was led by Julius Randle with only seven.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The team will be off until Tuesday, when the Brooklyn Nets come into the Staples Center. The Nets are coming off a win in their previous game, when they beat the Phoenix Suns, 116-106. Los Angeles will finish the month with the second worst record in the NBA at 11-49,with only two wins in their last ten games. With this record, the team is now 42.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors in the Pacific Division.
