Lakers Struggle Again, Lose To Pistons, 111-91

@TWCSportsNet

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to struggle on the road, as they suffered another double-digit lost, this time to the Detroit Pistons, 111-91.

We all know that the Pistons can beat you with the combination of ways, the big men in the middle Andre Drummond and Marcus Morris, their guards Reggie Jackson and talented rookie Stanley Johnson,but it was Kentavious Caldwell-Pope that gave the Lakers all kinds of problems in this game.

Caldwell-Pope, scored 22 points and was a defensive menace with 4 steals to lead the Pistons in both categories, to seal the win for Detroit in the process.

The Lakers were led in scoring by Lou Williams with 21 points, coming off the bench, to give the Lakers the offensive spark they needed. Williams also was 3 of 6 from downtown. Julius Randle had a very strong game, adding a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Our superstar, Kobe Bryant, left the game in the second half, due to some stomach problems (flu). He finished the game with only 5 points. Lakers guard Nick Young, returned to play in this one, but seemed totally frustrated with his playing time, took some out frustrations on Pistons forward Anthony Tolliver, after a hard foul and some pushing and shoving, Young was escorted off the court.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

REBOUNDING

The Pistons out rebounded the Lakers, 61-40, with Andre Drummond’s 15, and as a team, Detroit dominated the offensive glass, 17-9.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The Lakers (3-17), will head to Toronto to face the Raptors, who are coming off a three point loss to the Golden State Warriors. The status of Kobe Bryant has not been disclosed at this time, and we will keep you posted.

Los Angeles will try to end their brief two game losing streak tomorrow night. Los Angeles are still in the basement of the NBA’s Pacific Division, 18 full games behind the Golden State Warriors.
