Recap: Angels 6, Athletics 2- Angels back to .500

Last night at O.co Coliseum Stadium the Los Angeles Angels (66-66) were able to get back to .500 with a much needed win against the Oakland Athletics (58-75).

This game highlighted two starters as Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker (7-9, 4.31 ERA, 7.0 IP, 5 K’s, 5 Hits 1 ER) (W) won against Athletics starter Cody Martin (0-1, 3.0 IP, 0 K’s, 6 Hits, 5 ER) (L)

Oakland took the lead first in the bottom of the first inning. Third base man Brett Lawrie (1-4, R, HR, RBI) hit a solo home run to left center field as the Athletics were up 1-0.

This changed in the top of the third inning when the Angels managed to score four runs. They took a 4-1 lead and after that they didn’t look back.

The Angels would score two more runs as the Athletics scored one last run in the bottom of the ninth inning. 6-2 was the final score as this series is currently under way.

It is 4-3 Angels as they still in the first inning. Plenty of runs anyone for this series winner.
