According to a league source, Xavier Henry of the Los Angeles Lakers will miss the remainder of the season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Henry suffered the injury during practice and makes the third Laker to go down with a season ending injury, so far.

Lakers coach Byron Scott said Henry suffered the injury during a three-on-three drill.

“Nobody hit him or anything like that,” Scott said after practice. “He went down and pretty much said to us that he heard a ‘pop.'”

Henry is no stranger to injuries. He recently travelled to Germany to undergo treatment on his knee. To read more about Xavier Henry, click here.

With four players down with injuries, Nash, Randle, Kelly and now Henry, it’s likely the Lakers will apply for a hardship exception from the NBA so they are able to add a 16th player to the roster, which is one more than the regular-season maximum.

According to ESPN.com, the Lakers will also be eligible to apply for a disabled player exception that allows the Lakers to spend money on an additional player. The diabled-player deal would be worth half of Henry’s salary, which is about $550,000. Disabled player exceptions, however, cannot be combined, which means the Lakers wouldn’t be able to package the exception for Randle with a potential exception for Henry to acquire a player for $2 million.
