A King of the LA Kings, Rest in Paradise Aydain Dammer

We received some very sad news yesterday, as we learned of the passing of 6-year-old, LA Kings’ fan Aydain Dammer, after a long on and off again, 3 year battle, (half his life), against cancer. Though he lived a short life, Aydain’s big heart and caring personality will never be forgotten by those that loved him, knew him, or by those of us that followed and supported him on-line during this entire ordeal. He never faltered in his battle against stage 4 recurent CNS Neuroblastoma, becoming an inspiration to all of us, with his examples of will power, strength and courage. Aydain never stopped fighting, and he gave that battle everything that he possibly had, right to the very end. He’s been called Aydain the Brave, or even Aydain the Fighter and he most definitely was both of those things, but I think there is even a more fitting title for this young warrior, and that is … Aydain the King.

A die-hard Kings fan, meeting the Kings players was one of Aydain’s last 3 wishes, and that wish was granted by the Los Angeles Kings organization, who happily introduced Aydain to the Kings players and provided him to be able to meet, hang out, play, talk to and watch his idols. The experience was an amazing one for the young super fan as he also got to ride on the Zamboni, eat like royalty and playfully ham it up in front of cameras for Fox Sports West.

For those of you who would like to attend Aydain’s “Celebration of Life,” here is the info:

Rest in paradise Aydain, as you cheer on our Kings from the sky. Your smile and bravery will be remembered forever, and be an inspiration to all us for the rest of our days. You were one of us as part of the LA Kings family and always will be, so “Go Kings Go” to you Aydain, our angel and little brother and God bless. Aydain the King Forever. The bravest and toughest 6-year-old boy I have ever encountered.
