Ryan Reaves Receives Max Fine For Hit On Anze Kopitar

According to the NHL Player Safety Official Twitter account St.Louis Blues forward Ryan Reaves has received the maximum fine for his hit on Anze Kopitar in Tuesday’s game.
St. Louis’s Ryan Reaves has been fined $3,024.19, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for roughing on Los Angeles’s Anze Kopitar.

The Los Angeles Kings Public Relations official Twitter account also reported the news.
Blues forward Ryan Reaves has been fined for roughing Anze Kopitar during last night’s game, the NHL announced this morning.

Kopitar was forced to leave the game and did not return. At this point it is unknown how much time Kopitar will miss if he even indeed is forced to be out.
On the hit I believe that it was a dirty play and you never like to see that in hockey. Yes, the fine is nice and the Kings did go on to win the game, but if Kopitar is out and the Kings lose a game or two because of it it could be a big deal.
The Kings were just one game short of making the playoffs last year so we know that every game counts.
